J Marcos Reyes

Born to Cuban immigrants in New York and raised in Miami, I'm an artist and designer currently based in Denver. I am the founder and Creative Director at Crosshatch, a branding and graphic design studio. Just as in my design work, my work revolves around endless ideation through loose sketches and drawings. These ideas and drawings also serve as the starting point for my larger works. Generally my artwork is recognized by mixed-media elements, expressive mark-making, compositions and texture, often mirroring the spontaneity of my sketchbook entries.

Inspired by the natural beauty of Colorado, my art reflects the landscapes, textures and layers of the region. The play of light and color in the Colorado outdoors finds expression in my work. With a nod to my Cuban roots and the urban influence of my upbringing, each piece becomes a visual exploration of color, texture, and composition.
